Plengkung Beach or G-Land Beach is one of the beaches in Banyuwangi that has been popular as ‘The Seven Giant Waves Wonder’ among surfers around the world. In addition to the Plengkung, only Hawaii, Australia, and South Africa have such enormous waves.
Waves in Plengkung is the second biggest after Hawaii and that has waves continuously rolling throughout the year. Crests of waves in Plengkung only happen in certain months between April and August. G in G-Land beach name indicates Grajagan word, which is the name of a bay. G-land or Plengkung beach is surrounded by pristine rainforest and beautiful, thus offering a complete package to travel and exercise.
The beach is located in the southern part of the district of Banyuwangi, East Java. The beach is much visited by local or international community. However, the coast is dominated by foreigners who want to play with the waves and surf. G-Land beach has waves with heights that can raise the adrenaline of the surfers, especially the foreigners.

Access

The road leading to the beach is part of Alas Purwa forest inhabited by many animals such as chickens etc. This forest is famous for its mystical story, especially because many shamans meditate there.
